About Dr. Tavakoli

You’ve built a successful career. You’re driven, capable, and others rely on you. But behind the achievements, you may be carrying stress, self-doubt, or the weight of constant expectations. Many high-achieving professionals physicians, attorneys, executives, academics, and entrepreneurs find themselves excelling on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or unfulfilled on the inside. For working parents, the pressure can feel even greater balancing long hours, parenting responsibilities, and personal relationships often leaves little time for rest or self-care. The constant demand to “do it all” can lead to burnout, guilt, and the sense that you’re always falling short somewhere, despite giving your all.

I’m Dr. Niloofar Tavakoli, a licensed psychologist based in Houston and PSYPACT-certified to provide telehealth in over 43 states. I specialize in helping ambitious, high-performing individuals and working parents reduce stress, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with what matters most. Through evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help you quiet self-criticism, manage pressure, and create space for balance, purpose, and fulfillment.

Therapeutic Approach

Dr. Tavakoli works especially well with high-achieving individuals who appear successful on the outside yet feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected during periods of life transition. Many of her clients are professionals, physicians, or parents navigating role changes, burnout, identity shifts, or the quiet weight of high expectations.

From an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy perspective, Dr. Tavakoli helps clients develop psychological flexibility by learning how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions rather than battling or avoiding them. Her work focuses on clarifying values, strengthening self-compassion, and supporting clients in taking intentional action aligned with the lives they want to build. By integrating mindfulness and evidence-based practices, she helps clients move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of meaning even in the midst of uncertainty.
